About The Position

Must-Have :

• 3 years of ICU experience
• Prior travel experience preferred

Description : Unit has 8 beds.

Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.

Nurse to patient ratios are 1 to 2.

Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner.

Charge Nurse responsibilities depend on patient census.

No nurse aides available on the unit.

Weekend requirement is every other weekend.

Holiday requirements include one major and one minor holiday.

Scrub color is navy.

Tele / Monitor Techs are using Phillips; there is no monitor tech on ICU.

Common drips administered include levophed, propofol, vaso, dopamine, and dobutamine.

Vents are utilized in the unit.

A hospitalist or intensivist is present in-house and on-call after hours.

No IV team is available.

Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Shifts are 12 hours long from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Floating to DOU or tele is required, and the ideal candidate can float to DOU, tele, or med-surg.

Floor-specific orientation includes one shift in ICU, one shift in DOU, and one shift on an additional unit.

Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, pneumonia, stroke, and chronic vents.

A new cath lab will open in September, increasing patient acuity and introducing more cardiac patients.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience; those without this experience should not apply.

The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment, and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.

Charting system used is Cerner.

BSN is not required.

Trauma level not specified.

Care setting is acute.

Division is nursing.

Shift notes include 7 PM to 7 AM, with the candidate being the first to float.

Required certifications are ACLS, BLS, COVID Vaccine, and NIHSS.
