American Traveler is seeking a skilled ICU RN with at least two years' ICU experience and required certifications for a mixed ICU position on a 48-hour workweek schedule.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a large mixed ICU comprising MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU podsPatient population includes complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma casesCommon diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, post-cardiac cath, post-surgical cases, and severe traumaRN-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 3 based on acuity12-hour day shifts on a 48-hour per week contractEvery other weekend rotation may be requiredEpic EMR experience is required for ICU and EDPrimarily no floating, but may float to adult MedSurg / Tele if overstaffedOrientation includes one 12-hour and one 8-hour hospital and unit shiftNo on-call responsibilitiesNo RTO permitted during holidays or the Sturgis Bike Rally (early August)Navy scrubs requiredDeliver critical care to a diverse range of high-acuity patients in a fast-paced ICU settingCollaborate in a team with CNAs, charge nurses, intensivists, APPs, and respiratory therapists24 / 7 respiratory therapy support and presence of intensives during day and night shiftsUnit support includes CNA assistance, mobility float aide, resource nurse (staffing dependent), and on-site phlebotomyICU RNs may float to the ED and PCU RNs may float to ICU if qualifiedHospital is described as very traveler-friendly with frequent renewalsFree onsite parking is provided\n \n Requirements\n
Active SD or compact RN license in handMinimum two years of ICU experience excluding travel roles preferred; candidates with 1.5 years plus additional RN experience outside ICU considered for reviewAt least one prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not acceptedRequired certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (must be obtained prior to arrival if not already held)Experience with IV medications including vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry requiredAbility to work a 48-hour per week contract is requiredEpic charting experience requiredPreferred but not required : experience with Impella, IABP, CRRT, and 24–48-hour post-CABG / TAVR managementMust live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facilityPermanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler\n Benefits\n
