Patient Demographics : Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Volume / Census : patients per shift; up to 25 during busy season

Admissions : Yes

Case Mix : Emergency medicine cases across all age groups

FACILITY INFORMATION

No. of Beds in Department : 11

Trauma Level : Adult IV

EMR System : Epic

Office Equipment Available : Standard ED equipment

Specialty Backup Available : Ortho, General Surgery, OB / GYN, CRNA, Psych, RT, Teleintensivist

Support Staff Available : RT, Psych, Teleintensivist, Ortho, General Surgery, OB / GYN, CRNA, mid-levels (occasionally)

Reason for Coverage : Supplemental coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required : Yes

Credentialing Timeline : days (fingerprinting required; typically 48 hours to post)

Orientation : 4 hours, non-billable

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance : Covered (local candidates only; flights not covered)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Emergency medicine procedures typical for a single-coverage ED physician

Management of neonates through geriatrics

Coordination of emergency support services

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses : Active Minnesota license (Required)

Board : Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (Required)

DEA : Required

Certifications : ACLS, PALS, ATLS or CALS (Required)

Experience : Prior community site experience preferred

Other Qualifications : Experience with Epic EMR preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide emergency medicine coverage in a single-coverage ED setting

Manage patients per shift, with seasonal increases to 25 patients

Deliver care across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics

Collaborate with available specialty and support staff including Ortho, Surgery, OB / GYN, CRNA, and Psych

Document all patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR
