About the Role :
The Shift Lead is responsible for food quality and service in the restaurant. Shift Leads coach and train associates to follow established recipes and procedures to produce the highest quality food and to provide friendly and honest service. The Shift Lead may open or close the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager and the Assistant Manager.
Minimum Qualifications :
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position safely while meeting productivity standards
Able to stand and / or walk entire shift
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in the food service or hospitality industryExperience with inventory management and ordering suppliesExperience with scheduling and payroll managementResponsibilities :
Supervise and manage a team of employees, ensuring that they are meeting performance expectations and providing excellent customer serviceMaintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly stocked and maintainedEnsures customers receive their orders accurately and within the quoted promise timesEnsures shift execution (pre / post-shift checklists, game plans, and dough plans)Acts in a timely and decisive manner to adjust staffing for business volume changesControls food cost components of waste, prep, weights, portioning, and theft during shiftsHandle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional mannerAssist with training new employees and providing ongoing coaching and support to existing team membersEnsure that all company policies and procedures are being followed, including those related to recipes safety, security, and cash handlingManages the people, product, and equipment in the restaurant to deliver the Mission & Promise.Skills :
In this role, you will need to have strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands. You will also need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to think on your feet to resolve issues as they arise. Additionally, you will need to have a strong attention to detail and be able to maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of your work.
