Overview
Under the direct supervision and delegation of the RN, the LPN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of gathering patient data for assessment, identification of nursing problems, implementation and evaluation. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as a resource nurse when oriented and so directed. Supports the organization's mission, vision and values. Applies knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity, along with their spiritual and emotional needs into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Responsibilities
Required to assist / scrub in Cesarean Sections.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
Maintains good physical and emotional well being. The job responsibilities require a considerable amount of physical work, including lifting and moving patients, pushing carts and equipment, and lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, check chest tube drainage and urinary output. Ability to maneuver throughout hospital areas in response to emergencies. Visual and auditory acuity required. Significant writing and computer entry. Travel between departments may be required. Exposure to malodorous environments and infectious wastes; PPE may be required (gloves, masks, gowns, goggles).
