Brookline Recreation Department in conjunction with Brookline Public Schools are seeking enthusiastic and skilled part-time Instrumental Music Teachers with expertise in a variety of instruments to help inspire the next generation of musicians.. We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic teachers for private, one-on-one lessons in the following instruments :

• Woodwinds : Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone
• Brass : Trumpet, Trombone, other low brass instruments
• Percussion : General Percussion, Drum Set
• Strings : Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass

Responsibilities :

As an Instrumental Music Teacher, you'll provide private, after-school lessons to students, primarily in grades 5-8, ranging from beginning to advanced levels. We are looking for teachers who are skilled at the following :

Schedules and Pay :

We are flexible and seeking teachers who can commit to one or multiple days a week, with the possibility of shorter timeframes on specific days. Pay is $46 hourly.

Lessons generally run Sept. 28 to mid-June during the following timeframes :

Background Check Requirement :

All candidates will go through a background check through the Criminal and Sexual offender database as required by the Town of Brookline.

Additional Information :

Music Instructors will work under the general supervision of the Brookline Recreation Department Recreation Leader II – Adult Education. Instruction will take place in a variety of Brookline schools & Town Buildings.
