We are seeking a Site Lead / Business Development Manager to lead our Dayton, Ohio location and support the growth of new programs aligned with SciTec’s strategic initiatives. This on-site role reports to the Director of the Missile Defense Solutions Portfolio and involves a combination of site leadership, business development, program development, and personel management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader capable of driving new business while supporting a high-performing technical team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Capture
- Identify, capture, and maintain opportunity pipelines and roadmaps that align with corporate strategy through customer and industry engagement
- Lead assigned opportunities through SciTec’s gated milestone process, culminating in compliant and compelling proposal submissions
- Identify and execute business development efforts where SciTec performs as a subcontractor to prime contractors
- Develop teaming strategies, teaming agreements, and subcontract RFPs
Proposal Leadership
Serve as Proposal Manager for assigned efforts, leading development of solution content including win themes, features / benefits, proof points, and graphicsCoordinate with technical staff and Business Operations teams (Contracts, Finance, IT, Security) to deliver high-quality proposalsDevelop and maintain proposal schedules and budgets; support parallel proposal activities as neededAnalyze Government RFPs to shape proposal strategy and execution plansWrite white papers, proposal abstracts, and other customer-facing technical contentProgram & Customer Engagement
Brief corporate leadership on new business pipeline status and capture progressSupport pre-award activities, including customer Q&A, staffing planning, and teammate coordinationSupport new program start-up activities including kickoff meetings, personnel onboarding, and collaborative IT environment setupSupport marketing and business research; articulate SciTec capabilities to customers and partnersSite Leadership & Employee Development
Directly supervise, mentor, and grow the Dayton site’s staffAlign employee career progression with interests, skill sets, and project needsPromote a positive workplace culture by organizing morale events and team activitiesServe as facility coordinator, overseeing work orders, office consumables, and site logisticsAdditional Duties
Represent SciTec at customer meetings, tradeshows, and industry eventsPerform additional tasks as needed to support the Dayton site and corporate goalsRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline12+ years of U.S. Government or aerospace industry experience in technical or managerial roles10+ years of experience contributing to or leading U.S. Government technical proposalsDemonstrated success analyzing RFPs and leading proposal development activitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical and managerial solutionsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with customers, partners, and internal leadershipStrong team-building, conflict-resolution, and time-management capabilitiesActive DoD SECRET clearance or higherHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred Requirements
