Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We offer a nationally competitive salary with relocation allowance available, CME allowance and fully paid malpractice insurance. Practice Highlights :
- Part of a full-scope pediatric cardiology program
- Roughly ~200 congenital cardiac interventions performed per year
- Collegial team of providers as well as CVL and clinic staff
Responsibilities
Summary : Interested candidates should have experience and expertise with all types of diagnostic and catheter-based cardiovascular interventions. Clinical responsibilities will be primarily in the cardiac catheterization lab with additional inpatient and outpatient activities. The physician is expected to deliver the highest quality pediatric interventional cardiology services to patients and their families.
Inpatient
Perform and interpret pediatric and adult congenital cardiac catheterizations and interventionsConsult on ED, NICU and PICU patients at Presbyterian hospitalsAssist pediatric cardiology, electrophysiology, adult congenital, and pediatric heart surgery colleagues with the management of service and inpatient consultsAssist in post-operative cardiology patient managementRead pediatric and adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) echos, ECGs and holtersOutpatient
Prepare for upcoming clinics by determining prior testing required for each patientProvide patient management for all patients scheduled for clinicProvide interpretation / billing for ECGs, holters, echos, event monitors for patient panelCommunicate plan with referring providersProvide the same services for assigned outreach clinicsReturn parent calls and refill authorizations for patient panelCreate referral letters and denial of authorization petitions for patient panelPrepare patient presentations for surgical conference and M&M conferencesSupervise treadmills and stress tests for patient panelParticipate in maintenance of ICAEL certification, staff / nursing education, and quality improvement projectsCall Coverage
Be available via phone at all times while on callRespond to patient / parent and provider calls. Appropriately notify primary cardiologist for patient management decisions made overnight / weekendProvide prompt performance of urgent / STAT echosProvide prompt interpretations of any outside echocardiograms or ECGsManage urgent notifications of holter / event monitor / lab resultsRound on inpatients on service over the weekends / holidaysCompetencies
