CNA (Client Care Aide II) Positions

The Colorado Department of Human Services is hiring for part-time and full-time CNA (Client Care Aide II) positions at the Fitzsimons Veterans Community Living Center in Aurora, CO. The salary is $1,734.40 biweekly. This position is open only to Colorado state residents.

The Client Care Aide IIs provide basic hands-on patient / resident care in a safe, clean, infection controlled environment by bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, skin care, range of motion, positioning, ambulating, transferring, toileting programs, feeding programs, transporting, performing basic assessments (vital signs, blood pressures, weights, etc.), and charting / documenting all of the above.

This is a fully-operational position responsible for performing the full range of client aide tasks and problem solving. These positions detect information or problems by interviewing or investigating. This position must have a Colorado CNA certification and certification must remain in good standing.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED), one year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position, and a current, valid CNA certification from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. Preferred qualifications include experience in a long-term care environment, experience working with veterans or patients who suffer from PTSD, experience working with patients with dementia, and excellent communication and customer service skills.

Conditions of employment include a full background check, willingness to obtain vaccinations, willingness to test for Tuberculosis (TB), possession of a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license, and willingness to work any shift including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation as to why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position.
