Position Summary
The Senior Director of Technology serves as the strategic technology leader and trusted advisor for LCMC Health's infrastructure initiatives through Sapphire Health's managed services partnership across the 8-hospital network. This role provides executive-level technology guidance, builds crucial stakeholder relationships, and drives the strategic direction of all infrastructure services delivered through the Sapphire partnership.
The Senior Director acts as the primary technology spokesperson for infrastructure matters, translating complex technical concepts into business value and ensuring technology decisions align with LCMC Health's strategic objectives. This position requires a visionary leader who can navigate complex healthcare environments, build collaborative partnerships, and deliver transformative technology solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Advisory
- Serve as the principal technology advisor to LCMC's VP of Technology and executive leadership team on all infrastructure matters
- Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned with LCMC Health's strategic goals
- Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies and their potential impact on healthcare delivery
- Lead technology strategy sessions with hospital executives and clinical leaders
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for executive audiences
Executive Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain trusted relationships with leadership across all LCMC facilitiesServe as the escalation point for technology concerns from hospital leadershipPresent technology initiatives and performance metrics to executive committeesAct as the infrastructure spokesperson in leadership meetings and strategic planning sessionsPartner with executives to ensure technology investments align with business objectivesFinancial & Business Management
Partner with LCMC VP of Technology on capital and operational budget planning for infrastructureDevelop business cases for major technology investmentsTrack and optimize infrastructure spend across the enterpriseIdentify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service qualityNegotiate strategic vendor contracts and manage executive vendor relationshipsInnovation & Digital Transformation
Drive digital transformation initiatives across the healthcare systemEvaluate and recommend emerging technologies for pilot programsPartner with clinical leaders to identify technology-enabled care improvementsLead the development of innovation frameworks and governance processesChampion the adoption of cloud, automation, and modern infrastructure practicesProgram Management & Delivery
Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-hospital technology programsEnsure infrastructure projects deliver expected business outcomesManage program risks and develop mitigation strategiesCoordinate with Sapphire teams to ensure contract deliverables exceed expectationsDrive continuous improvement in service delivery and operational excellenceOrganizational Leadership
Provide strategic direction to the Director of Technology and broader infrastructure teamsMentor and develop high-performing technology leadersFoster a culture of innovation and continuous learningRepresent infrastructure services in enterprise IT leadership forumsDrive organizational change management for technology initiativesPartner with the Director of Technology to ensure strategic initiatives are effectively translated into operational executionCompliance & Risk Management
Ensure infrastructure strategies address healthcare regulatory requirementsPartner with security leadership on risk mitigation strategiesOversee disaster recovery and business continuity planningEnsure technology decisions consider cybersecurity implicationsMaintain awareness of healthcare compliance trends and requirementsRequired QualificationsEducation & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred12+ years of progressive IT infrastructure leadership experience5+ years in senior leadership roles within large healthcare organizationsMust be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater New Orleans areaRegular on-site presence required across LCMC Health facilitiesDemonstrated success partnering with executive leadership teamsProven track record of delivering enterprise-scale technology transformationsLeadership Competencies
