As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home.

Responsibilities

  • tutor students remotely using the Live Learning Platform;
  • provide personalized instruction in Music Theory;
  • adapt lessons to different learning styles and student needs;
  • deliver engaging, clear explanations and help students achieve their learning goals.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style;
  • Expertise in Music Theory with ability to explain concepts clearly;
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles;
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education preferred.

    • Compensation and How You’re Paid

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and can increase for specialized subjects; pay can reach up to $40 / hour with the same student over time.
  • Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice for.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • We handle the logistics—invoice for sessions and we process payments.
