Summary
NOELA Community Health Center is seeking to hire a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to work as a flex MOA within the health center. The flex MOA will be capable of providing either front office or clinic support to health center patients, as directed by the Clinic Manager, in order to ensure the health center operates most efficiently. Front office responsibilities shall include patient interaction at initial check in, chart preparation and filing, data collection and entry, telephone support, processing of fees-for-service transactions, interpreting for providers, and additional duties as needed. Clinic responsibilities include performing patient assessment and documentation under the direction of licensed personnel.
Responsibilities
Front Desk Responsibilities
- Performs patient check in, schedules appointments, verifies insurance, and enters data into the electronic medical record.
- Collects, records, and reconciles fee for service payments in accordance with policy and maintains accurate cash logs. Schedules, reschedules, and confirms appointments and documents updates in contact, insurance, or coverage information.
- Maintains files and databases
- Answers and routes telephone calls, takes messages, and documents patient contacts.
Clinic Responsibilities
Obtain, assess and document vital signs, allergy information, and visit reason under the direction of licensed personnel.Assists with glucose monitoring, urinalysis, venipuncture, and other point of care tests per protocol and documents results.Maintains laboratory and diagnostic logs in accordance with clinic and State requirements.Communicates relevant patient observations to providers to support quality care.Maintains clean, stocked, and orderly waiting areas, workstations, and exam rooms.Participates in cross training with other support staff to improve clinic efficiency.Scans and organizes medical records and required forms to support complete and compliant charts.Additional tasks as needed

High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience in a medical or health care setting is preferred.Ability to use electronic medical records and standard office software such as Word and Excel required.Cash handling and reconciliation experience required.Strong oral and written communication skills required.Ability to work in a culturally diverse, patient centered environment required.Familiarity with HMO, PPO, and government payer policies preferred.Bilingual in Spanish or Vietnamese encouraged to applyJob Posted by ApplicantPro
