Job Title : Automation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Automation Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with Automation Engineers to ensure that all equipment runs according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and the flexibility to adapt to off-shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Automation Engineers to ensure existing equipment is operating in accordance with specifications, including troubleshooting, debugging, start-up, and programming of automated equipment and upgrades.
• Serve as a technical expert for electrical circuits, program logic controls, vision inspection, and automation.
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of effective maintenance specifications and preventative maintenance programs.
• Participate in the design of automated machines, equipment, systems, devices, and fixtures to support assembly requirements.
• Recommend improvements to equipment and manufacturing methods.
• Assist maintenance personnel with diagnosing software and electrical system problems.
• Support Maintenance with equipment repairs in the event of a failure.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering to optimize equipment performance.
• Assist Automation Engineers in executing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for equipment changes.
• Ensure availability for off-shift requirements as needed.

Work Environment

Our newly renovated plant is moving operations to Michigan and is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including CNC Machinist lines, conveyors, and robotic weld cells. The facility operates with a focus on hybrid and electrified powertrains, providing a modern and engaging work environment. We offer a shift premium for off-shifts, and employees typically work an average of 40-50 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime based on production needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00 / hr.
