Summary
The main function of a software engineer is to apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. A typical software engineer researches, designs, develops and tests operating systems‑level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific and general computing applications.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve the modification of existing databases and database management systems.
- Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system.
- Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
- Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required.10+ years experience required.Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale.Developing software applications using relational and NoSQL databases.Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.Deploying software using CI / CD tools, such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GoCD, etc.Deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure.Working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum).Experience with AI tools is a BIG PLUS.Message streaming solutions, such as AWS Kinesis, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache ActiveMQ.Experience designing well‑defined Restful APIs.Hands on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman and Assertible.Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development.Hands on experience with testing tools such as Cucumber and Selenium and their integration into CI / CD pipelines.Datastores such as AWS Aurora, AWS RDS, AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Cassandra, Redis, MySQL, Oracle and other AWS technologies.Debugging and maintaining software in Linux or Unix platforms.Seniority level

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $87.00 - $88.00 / hour. Non‑exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Full‑time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
