THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking dedicated and motivated Corrections Community Center Monitors to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of individuals transitioning back into society at the state-operated Johnstown Community Corrections Center (CCC). If you are passionate about supporting re-entrants on their journey to successful reintegration back into their families and communities, this is the ideal opportunity for you!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining daily activity logs, monitoring the behavior of re-entrants, and conducting searches for contraband in common areas. You will oversee the management and inventory of prescription medications, security equipment, tools, hazardous chemicals, and housekeeping supplies. Additionally, you will oversee the sign-in and sign-out register for both re-entrants and visitors, controlling their movement within the CCC. A key duty will be conducting orientations for new re-entrants, which involves reviewing DOC and CCC policies, rules, and regulations. You will provide information on available public services, assign rooms, and delegate tasks. Furthermore, you will document and track re-entrants' daily activities, helping ensure the center remains ready for inspections. The ideal candidate will be attentive to the needs and concerns of the public and crime victims, responding effectively to address any issues or complaints.
