Corrections Community Center Monitor - Johnstown CCC

THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking dedicated and motivated Corrections Community Center Monitors to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of individuals transitioning back into society at the state-operated Johnstown Community Corrections Center (CCC). DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining daily activity logs, monitoring the behavior of re-entrants, and conducting searches for contraband in common areas. You will oversee the management and inventory of prescription medications, security equipment, tools, hazardous chemicals, and housekeeping supplies. Additionally, you will oversee the sign-in and sign-out register for both re-entrants and visitors, controlling their movement within the CCC. A key duty will be conducting orientations for new re-entrants, which involves reviewing DOC and CCC policies, rules, and regulations. You will provide information on available public services, assign rooms, and delegate tasks. Furthermore, you will document and track re-entrants' daily activities, helping ensure the center remains ready for inspections. The ideal candidate will be attentive to the needs and concerns of the public and crime victims, responding effectively to address any issues or complaints.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Work hours will be determined.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $ 41,081.00 (before taxes).
