General Contractor | Ground-Up Commercial Projects
We’re representing a well-established General Contractor in the Houston area specializing in a diverse mix of ground-up commercial projects across both the public and private sectors. Their portfolio includes work in education, municipal, retail, healthcare, and industrial markets — with projects typically ranging from $5M to $50M.
They’re seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to take full ownership of site operations and ensure successful delivery of each project from groundbreaking to closeout.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Conduct and document daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, plans, and quality expectations.
- Track project progress, resolve field issues, and proactively identify potential risks or delays.
- Manage inspections, punch lists, and project closeout processes.
- Foster a positive, collaborative jobsite culture and strong communication with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation for internal and client review.
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience managing ground-up commercial projects as a Superintendent.Experience across one or more of the following sectors : municipal, education, healthcare, retail, or industrial.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project) preferred.OSHA 30 certification highly preferred.Candidates with solely multi-family or residential experience will not be considered.To Be Considered
