Job Title : Medical Technologist

Job Description

As a Medical Technologist, you will prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring their acceptability, and perform various laboratory tests including Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis. Your role will involve performing tests using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, and flow cytometry. Maintaining a high degree of accuracy, you will conduct manual, semi-automated, and automated analyses on patient specimens. You will also maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and determine the acceptability of patient samples for testing.
• Repeat specimen testing as necessary to ensure accuracy.
• Perform Hematology, Chemistry, and Urinalysis testing.
• Conduct laboratory tests and procedures using techniques such as ELISA, RNA extraction, and flow cytometry.
• Perform biochemical, hematological, microbiological, and blood bank analyses.
• Maintain, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, label, and store reagents, standards, controls, and specimens accurately.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Recognize and take action on normal, abnormal, unusual, and critical results.
• Verify accuracy of results and initiate corrective actions as needed.

Work Environment

The position is 100% onsite in a blood bank lab, located on the 6th floor. You will be part of a collaborative team environment. This role requires working third shift hours, either from 10 : 30 PM to 7 : 00 AM or from 11 : 30 PM to 8 : 00 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00 / hr.
