Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Brownwood, TX 76801 (Texas travel nursing jobs)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1910–$2040 per week

Assignment Length : 13-week travel RN contract

Start Dates : 10 / 27 / 2025 or 11 / 10 / 2025

Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Labor & Delivery-Recovery (L&D RN jobs)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 2

Weekend Coverage : 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks

Orientation : 80 hours (includes modules)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (Texas RN jobs)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP (required for L&D nurse jobs)

Experience with Allscripts or Altera charting systems preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance

Travel nursing experience preferred

Must reside at least 150 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a Level II Maternal Facility

Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care

Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs

Monitor fetal heart rates and perform non-stress tests (NSTs)

Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers

Educate parents and provide discharge teaching

Utilize specialized equipment such as fetal monitors, Panda warmers, and Tot Guard

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
