The Closing team continues the momentum from the team’s day of hard work to finish strong; they take care of the guest until the doors close each night. They prioritize based on guest needs , have a deep understanding of each leader’s vision for thei r business, and have fun with the team while executing closing routines.

G uest service fundamentals and experience building a guest - first culture across the store

R etail business fundamentals : department sales trends, pricing and promotion strate gies, inventory management, process efficiency and improvement

S upporting daily / weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

Promoting and engaging around various benefits , offerings and services

Communicating and interact ing with all guests to build a welcoming guest experience

Blend ing problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

Ability to adapt to different guest interactions and situations

As a Closing Expert , no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities :

Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard .

Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.

When guests need assistance , engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.

Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience .

Thank guest s and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target .

Consistently execute closing routines to deliver a clean and organized store .

Support business area teams in completing closing tasks as dictated by daily priorities and guest traffic .

Support consistency in closing experience and routines in partnership with the Closing T eam L eader or ETL .

Work in all departments to ensure sales floor is full, zoned and in stock for guests .

Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress and accurately prioritize tasks .

Operate powered equipment safely and only if certified .

D emonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance .

Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.

Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) , Drive-up (DU) Orders and Returns , and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to k now to be a Closing Expert . But there are a few skills you should have from the get-go :

Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members

Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

Work both independently and with a team

Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot

Willing to educate guests and engage around products and services

Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes

Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Accurately handle cash register operations as needed

Climb up and down ladders

Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 4 4 pounds without additional assistance from others

Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and re liable and prompt attendance necessary

Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.

Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
