What this job involves - The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for focusing on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. At the direction of supervisor, assists with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, monitoring and performance of all equipment including, but not limited to : electrical, refrigeration, heat exchanger, HVAC, hot water systems, base building systems and emergency generators.

What is the day to day?

• Install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain electrical controls, single and three phase motors (single & two speed), bus plugs, interior / exterior lighting, battery chargers, fans, compressors, pumps, switching, motor controls, transformers, substation equipment, HVAC equipment, PLCs, and distribution systems ranging from 120v to 480v.
• Performs preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment which includes but not limited to : generators, exhaust fans, air conditioning equipment, boilers, water heaters, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, motors, and dock doors, dock plates / levelers, dock heaters
• Assist other mechanics and electricians with repairs and maintenance of plumbing / piping / tubing, interior / exterior painting, line striping (paint sprayer), welding, snaking drains, repair of dock doors, repair of dock plates / levelers, building and equipment.
• Maintains tools and orders supplies as required for installation and repairs. Keeps logs, documents equipment repairs, closes work orders, tracks time accurately in reports and provides timely and constant communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and / or Maintenance Manager. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
• Responsible for operating Power Distribution Grid during normal, paralleling, and island mode.
• Controls and regulates flow of electricity through EMHC PDG lines to critical business areas, and Office buildings.
• Complete site GMP requirements in relation to training and site practices.
• Maintain GMP training qualifications to ensure site compliancy standards.
• Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintains all codes, laws and regulations through the JLL compliance program.
• Maintains a clean and safe workplace
• Interact will with others in a team environment including Maintenance, Engineering team members as well as other internal / external customers.
• Team player with the desire to foster teamwork to help create a positive working environment.
• Be able to work independently and follow escalation policy if needed.
• Actively participates in, technical and safety training programs.
• Performs additional duties as directed.
