Job Summary: An unarmed security officer plays a crucial role in maintaining safety and security at various locations, such as office buildings, retail stores, residential communities, and event venues. Their primary responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and patrolling conducting regular patrols to ensure the premises remain secure and free from unauthorized activity.
• Access control checking identification, screening visitors, and managing entry points to prevent unauthorized access.
• Surveillance observing security cameras, alarm systems, and surroundings to detect suspicious behavior.
• Incident response responding to disturbances, emergencies, or safety hazards while following company protocols.
• Customer service providing assistance to employees, visitors, or customers while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
• Report writing documenting incidents, suspicious activities, or security concerns in detailed reports.
• Collaboration with law enforcement assisting authorities, when necessary, by providing information or evidence.
• Enforcing policies ensuring compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and regulations.

Unarmed security officers play a vital role in deterring threats and maintaining a safe environment through vigilance, professionalism, and strong communication skills.

• Conduct regular observation of client premises and report any suspicious activity.
• Perform foot patrols, monitor the perimeter, and handle incident reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to safety, security procedures, and site-specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, using problem-solving skills.
• Patrol the site on foot to identify potential dangers or criminal activity.
• Report any suspicious activity to supervisors or law enforcement as necessary.
• Maintain accurate reports by documenting observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Issue verbal warnings, make arrests (if applicable), and/or contact law enforcement for security violations or criminal activities.
• Adapt to various working environments and conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

• Valid California Guard Card required.
• Power to arrest certificate required.
• Appropriate Use of Force certificate required.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Be at least 25 years of age.
