Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Vascular Interventional Radiology position with day shifts and on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Work in a Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a hospital settingProcedures include cardiac cath lab interventions, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD / PFO, CardioMEMs), and hybrid peripheral vascular work with EVAR, TCAR, and TEVARSpecialized tools used : ICUS, FFR / iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, CTOMonday through Friday schedule, 7 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, 4x10-hour shiftsRotating on-call responsibilities as neededUses EPIC for charting; experience requiredLevel 1 Trauma experience requiredAdminister contrast material and recognize / respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactionsCompile pertinent clinical information and ensure accurate documentation per policyPerform cardiac cath lab, vascular and structural heart procedures under direct supervisionAssist in instruction of new staff as neededAssist with inventory and procedural suppliesAssess patients for allergies and provide patient care and safety throughout the procedureRotating call duties required within 6 months of startScrub attire / dress code as required by departmentNo local candidates; must live more than 50 miles from the facilityRTO not to exceed 7 days per 13 week contractAssignment limited to 12 months with a 30-60 day break required before re-assignmentRequirements
Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), IEMA Radiography License (Illinois), and ARRT (R) certification requiredAssociate’s degree in a related field or certificate in Radiologic Technology requiredMinimum of one year of relevant radiology technologist experience in a procedural settingAbility to work around and maintain a sterile field during interventional proceduresManual dexterity to handle small suppliesCapacity to communicate effectively and complete detailed work accuratelyEPIC charting experience requiredLevel 1 Trauma experience requiredLicense required if applicableBenefits
