Engineering Manager
Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced manager to support all technical aspects of their production operations. Responsibilities :
- Lead, train, and support a team of engineers and technicians focused on sustaining current manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Leadership to strengthen production performance and implement process improvements.
- Act as the main engineering contact for production, ensuring minimal downtime and effective technical support on the manufacturing floor.
- Maintain accurate and complete engineering documentation, including SOPs, BOMs, equipment specifications, and technical drawings.
- Oversee projects that enhance product quality, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and address component obsolescence.
- Partner with the Quality team to investigate root causes of production or field issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) from initiation through completion, ensuring data accuracy and proper communication.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools to streamline assembly processes and eliminate waste.
- Update and maintain technical documentation such as work instructions, specifications, and test or validation procedures.
- Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Support to align manufacturing activities with overall business objectives.
- Support Supply Chain in evaluating alternate materials or suppliers to prevent supply interruptions and manage end-of-life component challenges.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline. Experience in plastics or medical device manufacturing is a plus.Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.Proven background in sustaining engineering or manufacturing support within electro-mechanical or consumer product industries.Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and data-driven problem-solving methods.Skilled in CAD modeling (preferably SolidWorks) and proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.Experience overseeing engineering change processes (ECOs or ECNs).Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities with a focus on execution and accountability.
