Training & Development Specialist

The Training and Development Specialist supports ODW's mission to develop high-performing associates by overseeing the execution of onboarding, training, and skill development programs within the operation. This role ensures that all hourly and professional hourly associates are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to succeed in their roles safely and efficiently. Reporting into HR, The Training and Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's learning and development strategy across multiple operational sites. This exempt-level position is responsible for influencing, driving, and standardizing training initiatives that align with organizational goals. The Specialist will collaborate closely with Operations Supervisors, Managers, and Directors to ensure training programs are effective, compliant, and consistent across up to six locations. This role reports directly to the Training and Development Manager.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and oversee execution of onboarding and training programs for all hourly and professional hourly associates.
- Partner with Operations and HR leaders to ensure training content and delivery align with business needs and company standards.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and site-specific training sessions that promote safety, quality, and productivity.
- Monitor training progress, maintain accurate documentation, and provide regular reporting to HR and site leadership.
- Support the rollout of enterprise training programs and continuous improvement initiatives under the direction of the Training and Development Manager.
- Actively contributes to the development and refinement of training strategies and programs.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve training effectiveness and employee performance.
- Influence and advocate for training priorities in alignment with operational and organizational goals.
- Partners with Operations Supervisors, Managers, and Directors to assess training needs and implement tailored solutions.
- Serve as a liaison between site leadership and the Training and Development department to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Oversee training programs across multiple operational sites, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with company standards.
- Monitor and evaluate training delivery and outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Develop and maintain standardized training materials, processes, and metrics across all sites.
- Ensure all training programs meet regulatory, safety, and company compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain high standards of training, delivery and documentation.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and escalations to the Training and Development Manager regarding program performance, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
- Support the implementation of company-wide initiatives and change management efforts related to training and development.
- Serve as a role model for ODW's values by fostering a respectful, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
- Assess the onboarding program and suggest improvements to support new business launches with training needs

Minimum Qualifications :
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in training and development, preferably in a multi-site or operational environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with learning management systems (LMS), instructional design, and training evaluation methods.Comfort using HR or Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.Capabilities :
