Position Summary
The MRI Technologist provides high-quality patient care while performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. This role ensures accurate demonstration of anatomy for interpretation and / or intervention, while strictly adhering to MRI safety principles and maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions.
Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and / or physiology for interpretation and / orintervention.Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs.Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accuratelydocumented.
Positions patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images forinterpretation.
Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relativeanatomy is
demonstrated.Applies principles of MRI safety to patients, self, and others.Qualifications
Education / Training
Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology OR,Graduate of accredited school of Sonography OR,Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine OR,Graduate of an approved MRI technologist program through American Registry of Magnetic Resonance ImagingTechnologists (ARMRIT)
Licensure / Certification
Must have one (1) of the following :Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification OR,Valid American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification OR,Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certificationValid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification (MRI) or Graduate of an approved MRItechnologist program through American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Maintains current BLS / Healthcare Provider certification.Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida (Preferred).Experience
Mandatory minimum of two (2) years MRI experience and experience in one or more of the following areas :Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab, IR procedural imaging, Breast imaging or Cardiac imaging.Site proctor / preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training.Primary responsibility : Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality
