We are seeking an experienced Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 13-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This position starts Jan 2, 2026, with orientation, followed by clinical work beginning Jan 5, 2026, and involves providing care during night shifts from 7 : 00 pm to 7 : 30 am on the inpatient Heme / Onc service. Candidates must be able to provide a minimum of 13 night shifts per month and demonstrate recent experience in chemotherapy / biotherapy administration. Job Details Location : New York Start Date : Jan 2, 2026 LOA : 13 days Provider Type Needed : Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner Schedule : Night shifts, 7 : 00 pm – 7 : 30 am; minimum of 13 shifts per month Responsibilities and Duties Assess, diagnose, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign or malignant hematologic conditions Prescribe and administer chemotherapy and biotherapy Perform and document history and physical examinations, including pelvic exams as indicated Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities relevant to oncology and hematology Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions within scope of training and specialty Conduct arterial puncture and blood gas sampling Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or orogastric tubes Complete death certificate protocols Remove central venous catheters Additional Information Must be licensed as a nurse practitioner in New York Required certifications : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP) Must hold current Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Demonstrated competence in administering at least 10 chemotherapy / biotherapy treatments in the past 12 months is required Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
