Emergency Room RN Job Details

Location : Alamogordo, New Mexico 88310

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department (ER)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 17 / 2026)

Shift : 12-Hour Nights (multiple shifts available; start times between 3pm – 7pm)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1570–$1680

Weekend Requirement : 6 weekend days per 6 weeks

On-Call Requirement : 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 4-5

ER RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state

Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA

Current TNCC certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent emergency nursing experience preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Ability to complete New Nurses Orientation and all competency validations

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ER setting, treating clinic-type patients, strokes, STEMIs, Level I traumas, post-surgical complications, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and all emergency cases

Apply the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor patient response and side effects

Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health conditions and available resources

Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals

Maintain annual competency verification and adhere to all hospital policies
