Job summary
A fully independent contributor responsible for negotiating and securing land rights (leases, purchases, easements) in accordance with client scope and company policy. The Acquisition Landman manages a portfolio of landowner contacts, prepares and negotiates offers, coordinates with Land Administration, Title, GIS, and Project Managers, and provides client updates. This role requires sound negotiation and organizational skills and the ability to manage a moderately complex pipeline of landowner interactions.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and negotiate terms and compensation for leases, purchase agreements, and rights-of-way within approved authority; secure LOIs, leases, purchase agreements, and other required documentation.
- Independently manage landowner outreach, follow-up, and relationship building; convert interested landowners to “In Discussion” and drive to signed documents.
- Coordinate with Land Administration to request documents, title, maps (via GIS), and to ensure accurate file creation and status updates in Land Flow.
- Prepare and submit check requests, upload final executed documents, and deliver completed landowner files to the office / client as required.
- Meet with clients and Project Managers to provide progress updates; prepare for client meetings and be able to discuss individual landowner status and next steps.
Qualifications
2–5 years’ experience as a landman or in land acquisition / real estate negotiations.Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage multiple active files.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Teams; experience with Land Flow or similar preferred.Ability to draft and review standard LOIs and leases and recognize basic title / ownership issues.Willingness to travel and meet landowners in person when required.Preferred
Working knowledge of legal descriptions, ROW concepts, and basic title concepts.Experience coordinating with Title and GIS teams.Bachelor’s degree in business and / or meaningful experiencePay Range :
$65,000 - $90,000 depending on experienceSchedule : Monday to Friday
