Cumberland County Community Development Department
The Cumberland County Community Development Department leads the Continuum of Care (CoC) and oversees federal, state, and local funding dedicated to homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, and related services. The Department coordinates strategic planning, funding, and compliance efforts to reduce and ultimately end homelessness in alignment with HUD regulations and local priorities. The CoC Senior Administrative Specialist provides advanced administrative and program support to the CoC Lead Agency under the direction of the CoC Program Manager. This position is responsible for coordinating complex administrative functions, serving as Clerk to the CoC Executive Board, and maintaining accurate records and documentation for CoC governance. The incumbent also supports the implementation of CoC activities, ensures compliance with reporting and document retention requirements, and contributes to the smooth operation of program initiatives and projects. High school diploma or GED and two (2) year of experience in the assigned program area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

In accordance with Session Law 2025-16, candidates selected for positions involving work with children in any capacity will be required to undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history check conducted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
