Were currently seeking a Floating Assistant Teacher to join our passionate team at our Wilton location. This vital role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. Whether you're soothing a toddler, inspiring preschool learners, or supporting fellow daycare teachers, youll be an essential part of our nurturing and collaborative community.

You'll thrive in this role if you have :

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-2 years in a classroom setting is preferred
  • Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting
  • An energetic approach to learning and an positive attitude
  • Curiosity, creativity, and a strong team-focused mindset

Some requirements for this role include :

  • Ability to work the following schedule : Monday through Friday with availability to work until 6 : 00 pm daily
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills

    • As a Float Aide, you will be responsible for :

  • Providing substitute coverage when teachers are either out sick, completing planning time, or on a break
  • Assisting classroom teachers with opening / closing routines and classroom preparation
  • Supporting child care throughout the day, including preparing lesson materials, engaging in free play, outdoor supervision, snack and lunch help, bathroom / diapering support, and nap time assistance
  • Encouraging childrens participation with age-appropriate, interactive activities
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the daycare center
  • Attending monthly staff meetings and completing required professional development in early childhood education
  • Building positive relationships with students and families
