Responsibilities Position is based in a 349-bed acute care teaching hospital with Level 2 trauma designation Work on Telemetry unit with required floating to Med / Surg, Oncology, Nephrology, Post-surgical Care, and possible ED hold or Observation Unit Patient population includes cardiac, post-surgical, and complex internal medicine cases Work schedule is 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM with every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed Uses Cerner EMR Experience with equipment such as chest tubes, CPAP / BiPAP, trach care, feeding tubes, epidural and PCA pumps, PICC / Central Lines, Port-A-Cath, wound vacs, and temperature management devices Role includes caring for complex patient populations requiring cardiac monitoring and advanced device care Travelers are required to float to multiple units as needed Holiday coverage is required as scheduled by the unit Scrub dress code is in effect; color or style may be provided upon assignment Local candidates are allowed within a 60-mile radius at a reduced travel rate Returning travelers previously employed by the health system will undergo a review process to determine eligibility Pre-assignment online training modules must be completed Requirements Active NY RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only) Minimum 5 years of recent telemetry or related acute hospital experience Experience in telemetry interpretation, blood product administration, and advanced line / device care required Two recent professional references from previous managers required NIHSS certification preferred for Tele / Stepdown, ICU, or ER experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-638877.
