Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia travel nursing jobs) Unit : Telemetry Neuro Unit (5W), 30-35 beds Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 17 / 2026) Shift : 12-hour nights; every other weekend / holiday required Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1880 - $2020 Interview : No interview required Scrub Colors : Navy blue, white, or combination Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for travel nurse jobs) BLS certification (required) NIHSS certification (required) Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (required) At least 1 year of travel nursing experience (required) Dysrhythmia exam (study guide available) EPIC EHR experience (preferred) Ability to float to other med / surg units as needed Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (per travel nurse guidelines) Telemetry RN Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer medications safely and according to hospital policy Coordinate patient care, serving as a liaison for families and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure, CVA / TIA, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension (HTN), diabetes mellitus (DM), and other complex conditions Operate Alaris pumps, LifePak, Hoyerlift, Kangaroo pumps, and PCA pumps Collaborate with Monitor Techs, CNAs, and sitters to ensure optimal patient outcomes Conduct comprehensive assessments and update care plans as needed Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and clear communication at all times Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and medical emergencies Discover the benefits of travel nursing in Virginia and experience the unique charm of Petersburg while making a positive impact on patients’ lives.
