Work Environment :
This position can be performed remotely or in a hybrid setting. If you reside within 50 miles of our primary locations in Austin, TX; Mountain View, CA; or Warren, MI, you are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week. Those living outside this radius may work remotely.

Are you a hands-on AI expert at the forefront of innovation? We are seeking Technical Fellows to lead the design and implementation of advanced AI systems in computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and vision-language models (VLMs).
What You'll Do (Responsibilities) :
Set the organization-wide standard for engineering excellence and quality.
Challenge assumptions and spearhead high-impact technical decisions.
Lead cross-functional collaboration among software, data, hardware, safety, and security teams.
Own outcomes across programs and platforms, including risks, quality, and long-term maintainability.
Scale your expertise through mentorship, playbooks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Provide authoritative guidance on AI / ML architecture, evaluation, robustness, and explainability.
Deliver innovative platform solutions with measurable value for our business and customers.
Define the technical strategy and architecture; establish critical and non-functional requirements.
Direct complex design reviews and trade studies; document decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
Balance system requirements across performance, safety, reliability, cost, and compliance.
Establish and enforce organizational standards and best practices in testing, CI / CD, MLOps, and data governance.
Act as a force multiplier by mentoring senior staff, elevating the hiring standards, and leading critical postmortems.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :
PhD in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent research experience with a proven publication track record.
15+ years of experience in research and design of Computer Vision / VLM / LLM solutions focused on Machine Vision, including 10+ years of hands-on technical or scientific leadership.
Expertise in designing and implementing large-scale AI solutions.
Experience leading extensive AI / ML development projects from concept to multiple production releases.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one popular machine learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.) and familiarity with programming languages (C++, Python, Java, etc.).
Familiarity with various open-source machine / computer vision libraries (OpenCV, PIL, etc.).
Knowledge of OpenGL and OpenCL.
In-depth experience with MLOps and / or VLM / LLMOps.
Experience in cloud-based development and integration (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Track record of leading high-impact, cross-company initiatives.
Strong communication skills for effective presentations (both verbal and slides).
A desire for continuous delivery of new and improved capabilities.
Compensation :
Our compensation range is $234,000 - $358,500, influenced by factors relevant to the position. Candidates may also be eligible for a performance-based bonus program.
