Although our mission is virtually the same today as it was at our founding in 1918 - to provide quality primary care and specialized clinical services in a caring environment - we continue to grow and evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve.New London Hospital offers primary care for the entire family, ambulance and emergency services, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, a 24-hour emergency department, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, acute and critical care, and a full array of surgical services including orthopedics.In 2003, NLH received designation as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) after a successful survey of the hospital by the state of New Hampshire. CAH is a federal program designed to support small rural non-profit hospitals across the country. Under CAH, New London Hospital maintains 15 acute care inpatient beds and 10 swing beds (beds for patients who need hospitalization but are not considered acute care patients) for a total of 25 beds.
