Job Title : Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Emergency Room Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum of 2 years required; will review for 1.5 years in a Level 1 Trauma setting. License : License can be pending at the time of submission. Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC; must have TNCC prior to submission. Must-Have : Strong travel experience preferred; Level 1 Trauma experience preferred; floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs. Description : Medication administration must adhere to the seven medication rights. Documentation and communication of clinical findings is required. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department patients are admitted. Many of the Emergency Department rooms are designated as "ED Holding". There is an increased number of admit holds currently being experienced. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5. Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days include Saturday and Sunday; weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All travelers are expected to float to meet facility needs based on staffing. Earliest compliance document deadlines are required and should be adhered to strictly. Each traveler should be prepared for an active patient age group including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census ranges from 170 to 200 patients with around 175 visits per day. There are 68 beds and multiple interdisciplinary supports available. This role requires a nurse familiar with trauma and resuscitation experience. Bar Code Medication scanning is an expectation for all employees. Travelers can work up to 12 consecutive months before needing to take a break between assignments. All compliance requirements must be met promptly, including drug screens. RTO restrictions must be followed, especially regarding holiday requests. Approval for RTO will be requested upon offer if it exceeds specified limitations.
