Intake Coordinator

Our client is seeking an Intake Coordinator for a contract?to?hire opportunity. The Intake Coordinator will coordinate with the sales and pharmacy teams to process referrals and admissions promptly. They gather patient information, create patient records, and work with access operations to communicate insurance coverage to patients and referral sources. The Intake Coordinator is often the first point of contact and must maintain a positive, calm, supportive atmosphere, showing compassion for patients.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals received from referral sources.
• Ensure all required documentation is received to process referrals in a timely manner.
• Enter patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information into the computer system.
• Verify insurance and confirm patient financial responsibility prior to initial shipment.
• Coordinate with Sales, Access, and clinical staff regarding referral status, authorization requirements, and out?of?pocket cost collection before delivery.
• Complete documentation of progress notes in the computer system.
• Notify patients / caregivers regarding insurance coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and proprietary information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
