Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Regional Drug Dependency Unit
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide compassionate, high-quality care and support to patients in the Regional Drug Dependency Unit (RDDU) at the Great Plains Area facility in Winnebago, NE. This role supports the interdisciplinary care team by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient status, and promoting a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment for individuals undergoing substance abuse treatment.
Key responsibilities include :
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Supporting patient mobility by assisting with walking, transferring, and positioning.
- Monitoring patient safety and well-being, promptly reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Providing emotional support and encouragement to patients in various stages of recovery.
- Measuring and recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Assisting nursing staff with specimen collection, basic wound care, and other clinical tasks as directed.
- Maintaining accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic health records.
- Ensuring patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized.
- Maintaining infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assisting with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Collaborating with nursing, behavioral health, and medical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Adhering to all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies.
- Following facility, federal, and tribal healthcare guidelines and protocols.
- Participating in required training and professional development activities.
Qualifications :
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, recognized by the state of Nebraska or compact state licensure eligibility.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or able to obtain before hire).High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to pass background checks and drug screening in accordance with facility and federal requirements.Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, or similar clinical settings.Knowledge of cultural sensitivity practices, particularly within Native American healthcare environments.Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.Physical requirements include :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and assist patients with mobility.Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.Benefits :
