We’re looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Technician I to join Enbridge and contribute to maintaining the essential systems that power gas delivery through our compressor stations!

Here’s what you will do :

• Ensure the proper operation, compliance, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of such station systems as air systems, air dryer systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, gas compression, prime mover, and all other equipment vital to maintain gas delivery through the compressor station.
• Recognize and react to abnormal conditions associated with duties.
• Complete paperwork and report related to station equipment maintenance accurately and completely.
• Advise, as required, other employees in performance of station equipment maintenance duties.
• Consistently work in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.
• Actively participate as a work group team member and maintains a harmonious work relationship with fellow employees.
• Perform work in compliance with Company policies / procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
• Provide Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of Turbine / Compressor package unit, which including start, stop, alarm & operation variables monitoring, and initial response as required.
• Assist others in troubleshooting and repairing all station equipment.
• Work with significant independence on standard assignments.
• Continuously demonstrate and promote Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in design reviews with the ability to decipher diagrammatic / one-line drawings
• Ensure that all pertinent records are accurate, current and that preventative maintenance schedules are timely.
• Monitor operational pressures, alarm set points and react to abnormal conditions.
• Monitor, operate, and perform routine inspections on station air systems, fuel systems, cooling water systems, oil systems, and safety systems.
• Operate Turbine, auxiliary equipment, station valves.
• Monitor operation of station filter systems and liquids storage systems.
• Involved in planning work and giving budget related information as required.
• Performs all duties as assigned.

Include but are not limited to : Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to : Ability to : understand, remember and apply oral and / or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate / explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
