We are seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to join our small animal hospital in the Greater Philadelphia area!

About Our Clinic :

We are a full-service small animal hospital, offering the gold standard in medical and surgical care. We believe healthy pets make happy people, and we strive to provide high-quality veterinary care for cats and dogs.

Our diagnostic equipment includes :

➔ In-house laboratory

➔ Digital radiography

➔ Digital dental radiography

We have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to the success of patient and client care. Our doctors perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. All patients undergoing anesthesia have pre-op lab work, receive an IV catheter and fluids, and are carefully monitored and recovered by our skilled surgical technicians.

Our practice is open Monday–Wednesday 8 am–6 pm, Thursday–Friday 8 am–5 pm, and Saturday 8 am–12 pm. We offer flexible scheduling, an hour for lunch, and generous time reserved for writing medical records and client communication. We would ideally like someone open to Saturday rotations. There are no on-call responsibilities. Our clinic is an excellent environment for veterinarians interested in practicing the highest level of medicine and surgery.

Role Description :

As the Medical Director, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring top-notch medical care and operational excellence. You'll work closely with the Practice Manager and Regional Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, provide medical direction, and maintain our high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities :

➔ Manage and supervise hospital operations, from patient care to facility maintenance, in collaboration with the Practice Manager.

➔ Provide leadership and mentorship to our veterinary team, ensuring they receive top-notch training and support.

➔ Act as the DEA Registrant and "Veterinarian in Charge," ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

➔ Handle budget administration, including approving expenditures and projecting overtime requirements.

➔ Address pet owners' concerns and maintain our hospital's culture of compassion and excellence.

➔ Represent our organization at conferences, universities, and CE events, showcasing our commitment to advancing veterinary care.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

➔ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with clients and team members.

➔ Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities to navigate challenges effectively.

➔ Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

➔ Ability to interpret regulatory documents and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications :

➔ Valid Pennsylvania veterinary license in good standing

➔ All experience levels considered

➔ Ability to work a rotational weekend schedule is preferred

➔ Salary : $140,000.00 – $170,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience
