About the Role :

The Tool and Die Repair Technician for Plastic Injection Molding on the 3rd shift plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of manufacturing operations. This position focuses on the repair and maintenance dies used in plastic injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality and minimize downtime. The technician will work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues promptly, supporting continuous manufacturing flow during the overnight shift. By applying expert knowledge of tool and die mechanics and plastic molding principles, the technician contributes to the optimization of manufacturing equipment and the reduction of scrap rates. Ultimately, this role follows PM programs to ensure that all tooling components are in optimal condition to meet production schedules and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in tool and die repair, specifically within plastic injection molding environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently during the 3rd shift with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing setting.

Daily, the technician applies mechanical skills to disassemble, repair, and reassemble complex tooling components, ensuring they meet precise specifications. Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes helps in understanding how tooling affects the final product, enabling proactive adjustments and improvements. Effective communication and collaboration skills are also used regularly to coordinate with production and engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration of tooling solutions within the manufacturing workflow.

10 : 40 pm - 7 : 00 a.m. Overtime before or after shift as needed. 3rd Shift premium is $.80 per hour
