Finance Specialist (HE Assistant)

Perform a combination of duties that aid with Division of Science finance operations and general operations. Facilitates finance operations of the five departments in the Division (Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematics, Physics). Assist with student scholarships and awards. Audit payments to ensure accuracy and proper documentation. Perform accounts payable functions for tax levy (TL) and non-tax levy (NTL) business units within the College. Assist the Finance team with obtaining and analyzing TL and NTL data from reports. Prepare accounting entries, analyses, reconciliations, and maintain payment data spreadsheets for tax levy and non-tax levy accounts. Process, update, and reconcile purchasing, travel, invoices, payments to vendors, and conducting travel and expense reimbursements. Use CUNY Software platforms such as CUNYBuy and other electronic services. Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required. Preferred Qualifications : Four years of related financial or administrative experience. Experience maintaining financial accounts, preparing reports, and supporting budget operations. Experience with purchasing, travel, invoices, reimbursements, and account reconciliation. Strong analytical and financial reporting skills. Ability to track, monitor, and reconcile financial data accurately. Proficient in managing revenue, accounts receivable, and expenditure tracking. Able to perform ad hoc financial analysis and support management with projections. Strong organizational and communication skills; may supervise staff as needed.
