Description :

You are being submitted to a position in a commonly impacted area for hurricanes.

The hurricane season will run from June 1 - November 30, but storms have been known to occur outside of that timeframe.

Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team."

There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the storm passes or to be part of the relief team.

Specific details pertaining to pay will be communicated for each storm, as impacts vary.

You should not apply during the hurricane window if you are not comfortable with this expectation.

The schedule includes shifts from 06 : 15 to 18 : 45 on a Sunday, Monday, and Saturday rotation.

No on-call duty is required for the weekend rotation.

The unit does not accept first-time travelers.

You must be highly proficient in a variety of surgical procedures and will be working independently during weekend shifts.

References from managers or supervisors will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract.

NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with the profile and be up to date within four weeks of submission.

Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the facility for one full year before returning in a travel capacity.
