We are excited to announce a job opening for a Permanent Controller in the Accounting + Finance industry. This position is an integral part of our leadership team, working closely with the General Manager and Operations team to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of US GAAP, and a knack for effective inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and a proven track record of developing and coordinating budgets, preparing monthly reports, and ensuring internal controls are in place.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as the Finance Leader, partnering with the divisional leadership team, including the General Manager and operations functions.
  • Oversee the monthly financial reporting process, ensuring accurate accounting in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Develop and coordinate annual department budgets, including capital and cash flow.
  • Oversee inventory management and monthly physical inventory assignments and calculations.
  • Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure internal controls over all aspects of financial reporting.
  • Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results within the applicable format and time requirements, including monthly internal business reviews.
  • Submit all financial transactions, transmissions, and reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Work closely with the operations group to ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
  • Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly.
  • Handle intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Analyze internal controls to ensure assets are adequately safeguarded and results are accurately reported.
  • Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Implement and maintain comprehensive internal controls consistent with company-wide policies to ensure appropriate use and protection of all assets.
  • Review all capital requests and ensure accuracy of investment justification.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Accounting + Finance industry.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Proven experience in inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work closely with various teams and departments.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Experience with intercompany account reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies.
  • Proven experience in reviewing capital requests and ensuring accuracy of investment justification.
