Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Attorney who brings both transactional and litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of relevant experience and currently live in Shreveport or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Represent upstream and midstream oil & gas clients in royalty disputes, lease terminations, surface use conflicts, etc.

Draft and negotiate contracts including JOAs, PSAs, farmouts, and MSAs.

Handled matters involving pipeline easements, right-of-way negotiations, and eminent domain proceedings.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting clients in the oil and gas sector, and advise clients accordingly.

Collaborate with legal, business, and technical teams to ensure that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana.

5+ years' experience as an attorney in oil and gas law - transactional and litigation work

Exceptional negotiation, research, and communication skills.

Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents and contracts.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make sound judgments and decision-making skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professional ethics.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to the oil and gas industry.
