Overview
Job Title : Structural Engineer
Position Overview : As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and execution of complex engineering projects. You will mentor junior engineers, support the growth of the structural engineering team, and develop leadership skills while working on a wide range of projects.
Responsibilities
Structural Design & Analysis : Lead the design and analysis of projects including commercial buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities. Ensure designs meet industry standards and codes, and are optimized for performance, safety, and efficiency. Familiarity with wood, steel, concrete, masonry, and cold-formed steel is required.
Technical Leadership : Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers by reviewing their work and providing feedback to promote professional growth.
Project Management : Oversee project teams, manage budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Client Collaboration : Work with clients to understand project needs, present engineering solutions, and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Code Compliance : Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and building codes and regulations.
Quality Assurance : Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of design, documentation, and project delivery.
Innovation & Trends : Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in structural engineering and integrate innovative solutions into project designs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on structural engineering); a Master's degree is a plus.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
3-5 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., RISA Suite, 3D Foundation, Section, Connection, AutoCAD). Experience with Revit is not mandatory.
In-depth knowledge of structural engineering codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASCE).
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Project management experience is a plus.
