About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Compliance Specialist to join our team. This full-time position will focus on managing and completing recertifications for Section 8 and HUD-subsidized apartment communities . The role involves traveling between two nearby apartment complexes to ensure compliance with all federal housing regulations and maintain eligibility standards for our residents.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct and process annual and interim recertifications in accordance with HUD guidelines.
Ensure timely submission of all resident documentation and verifications.
Maintain accurate and organized tenant files and records.
Communicate with residents to gather required documentation and answer compliance-related questions.
Collaborate with property management staff to ensure lease and program compliance.
Perform file audits and prepare for MOR (Management and Occupancy Reviews) and REAC inspections.
Stay up to date with HUD regulations and Section 8 program changes.
Requirements :
Experience with Section 8 / HUD housing programs required .
Strong knowledge of HUD rules, recertification processes, and compliance standards.
Experience with software such as Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management platforms is preferred.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Must be able to travel locally between two apartment complexes (mileage reimbursement provided, if applicable).
