Ensure adequate inventory of all new or promotional products is on hand in all locations to support the marketing efforts of our customers. Manage sell-through of inventory to limit financial exposure associated with obsolescence. Communicate within the organization, with customers and suppliers regarding promotional efforts or activity needed to successfully support the initiative. The purchase of promotional stocks has significant implications within the business. Dollar expenditures are routinely seven figures. Purchasing decisions impact division capacity and manpower planning as well as inbound freight. Failure to properly execute will result in losses for involved customers and badly tarnish the image of McLane. Repeated failures could lead to loss of the account. / ppThis position is based in Carrollton, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Ensure information provided is accurate and sufficient to support the planned activity. / liliIdentify and discuss potential risks and issues. Review and monitor new item and / or new vendor set up requests for reasonableness and accuracy of data. / liliAnalyze and load promotional forecast data into purchasing system. Work with concept to address concerns with the forecast or promotional inventory build. Provide solutions to meet tight deadlines. / liliPurchase or monitor the purchase of all items across all divisions in support of chain promotional efforts. Monitor the build-up and sell-through of inventory to ensure against inventory obsolescence. / liliWork with suppliers to address fulfillment issues and raise concerns related to product supply chain issues such as packaging or handling requirements. Elevate issues to management and / or concept purchasing as required to ensure supply and product integrity. / liliCommunicate to all affected parties the timing and special circumstances associated with promotions, new items, item replacements, limited time offers, toy items etc. Interactions will include Chain personnel, Franchisees, Distribution Centers, Pricing, Logistics, Accounting, IT and others. / liliCoordinate and monitor auto-shipments, restrictions or allocations to support chain or manage tight supplies. / liliWork with C.O.M. Team to ensure accuracy of customer order guides / liliProvide supply chain expertise. Participate in chain and / or concept purchasing group conference calls and business reviews, conferences, summits, etc. / liliDetermine franchise- and store-level participation in promotions and special product offerings. Obtain documentation and maintain compliance with AIP requests. / liliWork with chain or brand customers / franchisees to address slow-moving and obsolete inventory. / liliWork with chain to ensure shelf-life matrices are constructed in a manner that allows efficient purchasing and minimizes spoilage. / liliUnderstand McLane Foodservice and chain quality / food safety requirements as they relate to inbound freight, product storage and recalls / withdrawals. Work with chain QA, DC and other parties to help resolve issues with inbound or received product. / liliResponsible for billing and collection of funds due resulting from inventory transfers, storage fees, product recalls, vendor shipping errors etc. / liliManage special projects related to chains, inventory or other business needs involving supply chain. / li / ulpstrongQualifications youll bring as a Program Manager : / strong / pulliBachelors degree in business or related field. / liliHave 3 years purchasing experience in a high volume, high inventory turn environment. / liliStrong communication and interpersonal skills. / liliDemonstrated analytical skills with strong attention to detail. / liliBalanced judgment and prioritization skills when confronted with competing objectives. / liliStrong computer literacy with demonstrated ability in working with spreadsheets. / liliPrior foodservice industry experience in procurement, operations or sales. / liliThis position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
