Nesco Resource is currently sourcing for an Assembly Department Lead for a Design and Fabrication company in Madison Heights.

Shift Time : 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm

Pay Rate up to 19hr based on experience level

Areas of Expertise :

Environmental Design & De cor Engineering, De cor, Signage & Architectural Alternatives, Technology & Craftsmanship-based Manufacturing, Project Management & Installation.

Overall position description with general areas of responsibility :

A team leader has a full understanding of the task at hand and is responsible for delegating the tasks to a qualified individual for the job. This position is responsible for prioritizing, organizing, delegating, assembling, moving, staging and processing materials within the assembly department. In addition, this individual will be responsible for training and reviewing the work of team members to meet the established standards.

Essential Functions of The Job

  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the job orders and their priority.
  • Determines proper assembly requirements if paperwork is unclear.
  • Prioritizes workload of team members to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Gives clear instruction to others in the assembly area.
  • Maintains inventory levels of all items required for assembly.
  • Completes tasks designated by production coordinator to meet production deadlines.
  • Attends bi-weekly production meetings and interacts with other departments as needed to achieve proper scheduling.
  • Checks for accuracy throughout the assembly process, including size, color, quantities and quality.
  • Assures the work area and aisles around them are kept clean and free of debris.
  • Keeps WIP (work in process) materials organized and in designated areas.
  • Responsible for maintenance of tools.
  • Manages multiple projects at the same time and stays focused and on task.
  • Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
  • Able to stay calm in times of crisis management.
  • Perform all job duties using standard safety practices and site safety standards.
  • Responsible for reporting safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Responsible for following all company policies as stated in the site employee handbook.
  • Willingness to work flexible and overtime hours as needed.
  • Some Saturdays are required and OT in excess of 50 hours during months of March-November is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • General mechanical inclination.
  • Able to initiate ideas and problem solve.
  • Have a general understanding of signage and graphics materials, substrates and manufacturing processes
  • Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
  • Strong comprehension and analytical abilities.
  • Good computer and mathematical skills preferred.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds of material on a regular basis.
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive movements.
  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the shop.
