Job Description

The Preconstruction Director will : Preconstruction Leadership & Department Development

• Build and lead the preconstruction department, including staffing, systems, and processes.
• Develop and implement preconstruction protocols, estimating tools, and project budgeting frameworks.
• Collaborate with design and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery from concept to construction.
• Oversee bid preparation, subcontractor engagement, and value engineering efforts. Strategic Growth & Executive Collaboration
• Partner with the President to define and execute long-term business strategies.
• Contribute to organizational planning, including market expansion, service offerings, and operational improvements.
• Participate in executive decision-making and leadership meetings. Business Development & Client Engagement
• Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise during client pitches and proposal development.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving. Talent Acquisition & Team Building
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing preconstruction and construction professionals.

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Preconstruction Director : 15+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong background in preconstruction and estimating. Proven leadership experience in building and scaling teams. Deep understanding of design / build delivery methods and commercial construction practices. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
