Property And Evidence Technician
The City of Oxnard's Police Department is seeking a Property and Evidence Technician under the general supervision of the Property and Evidence Supervisor performs a variety of specialized law enforcement support duties involved in receiving, storing, disposing of, and releasing property and evidence collected by police department staff; maintains control of evidence found, safekeeping property and other items, and ensures preservation of all items taken into evidence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
Payroll / Classification Title : Property and Evidence Technician SUPERVISION EXERCISED / SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Receives close supervision and specific direction regarding assignments and deadlines. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS : This classification is distinguished from the Property and Evidence Supervisor in that it performs routine property and evidence processing and maintenance. WORK SCHEDULE : The normal work week is Monday through Friday. Depending on the work assignment staff may be assigned to a shift that is outside the standard work hours. In addition, this position may be required to be available to work additional hours in response to peaks in workloads and changes in department needs. This position requires participation in a standby / on-call rotation. Timely and appropriate responses to urgent issues are expected during on-call periods. This position is governed by the overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime pay.

Employees are required to participate in the City's direct deposit plan and are paid on a bi-weekly basis. This position requires a 12 month probationary period.
